Although it would have been great just to sit and chill at the villa all week, we had to take advantage of our location and visit the awesome cities and sites nearby! So we hopped in our rental cars and hit the winding roads of Tuscany so we could see places like. . . Siena - our first stop (which we actually visited twice). . .
And next we spent a day in Pienza, which I think was our favorite place (the views alone were amazing!) and this is where we had THE BEST food of the entire trip (besides Gma's bday dinner and a great place we had lunch at in Sorrento). . .
We also were able to fit in some wine tasting at an official winery (rather than just hitting up the stash at the villa)! We went to Grandma and Poppy's favorite winery, a family-owned and run establishment called La Fornace Winery in Montalcino. We definitely got a little lost on our drive over there - see gq's hand-drawn map above - but the scenery was a great distraction!
