Vivian was baptized during Memorial Day weekend in Virginia. Following tradition she wore Mommy's dress (need to scan a pic of Mommy in it!) with a few alterations around the neck that Grandma made back in the day. She would have also worn Aunt Jen's booties like her sister, but they were too small! Couldn't even get them on her feet. The service was held in the same church (with a facelift having newly been renovated) where Mommy and Daddy were married and Isla was baptized, also. (See Isla's baptism post here.)
Vivi did great! No tears, she wasn't even bothered by the water dripping down her face as she was introduced to the congregation. She was calm and just looked around, taking everything in and chatted a bit. Didn't fall asleep until the very end when we were finishing up with some pictures. Afterwards, we all headed to Madonna and Maureen's home where we enjoyed fabulous hors d'oeuvres which were inspired by Vivi's namesake's heritage (Swedish and Austrian, more on that in another post!), delicious dinner and dessert by the pool! Was wonderful to spend time with our family and family friends!
