Nostalgia for Brooklyn

Yes, I know I'm behind with posting. Here we are in July -- how does that happen?! I have yet to share some of the adventures we had in May, so please bear with me. . .

We'll start with a weekend we spent in Brooklyn (even before Vivi's baptism)! Mommy was all psyched to run the Brooklyn Half, but just couldn't quite get there training-wise, but we went anyway since running a race isn't the only good reason to head up North. (Plus, Daddy actually followed through and ran it!) It was good to be back in the old neighborhood. We visited some friends and our favorite spots which brought back lots of memories from when we lived there. And we made some new friends and memories!

We had a playdate with our friend Charlie and her new little sis who is only two days younger than Vivi. The two became fast friends.

It took Isla and Charlie a bit longer to get in the groove and actually play together . . . then about five minutes before they were about to head home, the stars aligned! Oh, the life of a three year old! So we let them hang for a bit longer because they were playing so nicely!

After all that playing, Vivi was ready for a (supervised) snooze on the couch!

As I mentioned, we were not only in Brooklyn to hang with friends, but also to run! Here's Daddy when he finished, showing off his medal to Isla.

Then we met up with our friends and old neighbors for brunch.

Daddy was a little sore after the race. Good thing Dr. Isla was there to take care of him and give Vivi a check-up!

We ended the weekend with yet another brunch with friends, at Fabi's house! She also has a new baby sister who was just a little too small to play with Vivi and Penny!

Seeing the girls hanging out in Fabi's bed reminded me of a time way back when it used to be a crib! Had to dig up this old photo from September 2011. Our babies are growing up!!
