Here's the rest of our summer story -- shots of some our regular, mundane daily tasks and some fun times during August and September. Sorry to see summer go, we had a good one. But, we welcome fall and especially look forward to sweater-weather. (Whenever that will happen, it has been unseasonably warm as of late.) And it's nice to be home-bodies for a change since we had a busy summer. Plus, Isla has been looking forward to Halloween ALL.YEAR.LONG. Anyhoo, here's what we've been up to:
At the homestead . . .
| always on the bench when mommy wants him off |
chore time! who would've thought
she'd enjoy putting away silverware? |
| swing... |
| weeeee. |
At Maureen and Madonna's -- Cavanna was in town and we all celebrated Daddy's bday . . .
| sink bath! |
| next generation! |
| budding photog |
| happy bday, daddy! |
| future pastry chefs |
| sweet assistance |
| cupcakes! |
| treats for the kiddos and adults! (daddy's fav beverage) |
| i am batman |
At school . . . Isla started school at the beginning of September. She stays an hour or so longer than she did last year and eats her lunch there. I have a feeling she eats dessert first!
| Isla's first day - 3's program |
At dance . . . Isla started ballet for the first time. She has been talking about it for months and was so excited when she was given her ballet slippers, leotard and tights. So much so, that she wanted to put them on and practice in her playroom before we left.
| love how well she listens to instructions! |
At Northern Neck . . . this is during naptime (some resist, others embrace) and project time (Daddy has a new toy!)
At the Eastern Shore . . . in Maryland with Daddy's work friends and family. It was a lot of fun! It was a cool weekend weather-wise. We still enjoyed being outside, even had some crabs! Not sure who had the most fun -- Jonas, who made friends with three other doggies or Isla, who enjoyed being in the company of our friends' 10 year-old, eating lots of "chippies" and collecting more rocks than she could carry!
| it may not look like it, but he is loving this |
| and this |
| this, too |
| ball? |
| i want that one! (yes, she actually said that!) |
| new friends |
| mommy's on a boat!! and she's smiling! |
At home . . . Beginning school = the spreading of germs. Both girls had their first bouts of croup! Isla had a mild case, then Vivi. Ugh!
| this was obv taken before viv caught it |
At PopPop and Gigi's . . . Nanny came up to Virginia from Florida for a visit, so we hung out at Pop Pop and Gigi's and she even took some time out to come up to Baltimore with Gigi (she is one busy lady)! Love you, Nanny!
At home again! We ended September spending a busy Saturday with Madonna and Maureen at a horse race (no pictures that I know of?) and an event in Bmore (hurray for food trucks, face paint, horse rides, and beer!):
she LOVED riding the horses at
the food truck gathering (aka The Gathering) |
| giving the horse one last bit of love! |
| apparently daddy likes face paint, too (what a good sport!) |
no ice cream? no problem!
(as long as cupcakes are an option!!) |
| face paint - still good(ish) the morning after. |
