We attempted a sandbox outside but after a rude cat "borrowed" it one night, I rarely let Isla play in it. (Even if we did throw out most of the sand and refill it with fresh sand, I just didn't like the idea. Bleh!) Then her Dad came up with a great idea to turn the space into a garden. One weekend they planted some bulbs, seeds and flowers. Isla loves checking on, watering and reporting on the growth progress of her plants each day. Like, LOVES it. She's excited to (hopefully) grow her own pumpkin(s) for Halloween and make tomato soup (a favorite dish of hers) with the tomatoes. So fun!
