Isla took her first trip on an airplane Memorial Day weekend when we went down to North Carolina to visit Aunt Jen and Uncle Mike! Despite a delayed flight and an hour spent on the runway before take-off, she handled it very well and slept in Catherine's arms the entire time!! When we were getting off the plane everyone was surprised that she was even on the flight! Here's hoping she will always be that good. . . Unfortunately our visit also included her first trip to the emergency room. Thankfully Isla wasn't hurt, but Michael, Mike, and Mike's Dad were. They were out on the deck grilling our lunch when it collapsed suddenly without warning! Something hit Michael on the head, so he ended up with a concussion and stitches. The grill landed on him as well, so he has quite a few burns. They could have been much more severe if Mike hadn't pulled it off of him when he did. Mike also was burned pretty badly on his legs. Mike's Dad was hurt the worst ending up with a punctured lung, broken ribs and he is now recovering from spinal surgery that was needed to repair ligaments!! So that was quite the event! We still had a good visit despite the accident and are so happy everyone is on the mend.

oh goodness... i forgot to ask michael all about this! couldn't even tell he had been in such an extreme accident though... i guess he heals well!
