Gingerbread For Dinner

Isla was really looking forward to making a gingerbread house again, as was Mommy! This year we decided to try making one from scratch (adding a delightful, little candied stained glass window, if I do say so myself). Which was fun to try, although I'm not really sure what the point is since we don't even eat the silly thing. Then again, it made for a nice project and since Isla is a bit older, she could do the icing and decorating all by herself. Again, it was a three-day event, but we did it! On the night we decorated, Mommy made the mistake of letting Isla do so before dinner, forgetting that her little baker tends to sample her work ... Oh well, you live, you learn. And she had fun.
