Princess Party

oh, the anticipation before a party!

When the time came time to talk about Isla's fourth birthday party, I wasn't sure what to do. I'm a believer in the idea that the number of invitees should correspond with the age the kiddo is turning. Then it's not so overwhelming for her (and us!). But, we'd already attended a bunch of "big" parties where everyone in the 3's and 4's classes from her school were invited and so she kind of expected the same. Then she mentioned her desire to wear her Elsa dress. That was fine with me as long as we were at home. So we agreed on a princess party at home and invited only the girls in her 3's class. Seven of the eight attended in their best princess attire and they all had a good time. Vivian missed out because like last year, she slept through the entire party, which was crazy, because at one point, all eight girls were screaming! The girls played in the playroom, decorated their own fairy princess wands and we had a piñata. Lunch was devoured, as was the special piñata birthday cake (pink and filled with M&Ms, of course!)! Phew!
