Oh! I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside! | Part 1

Another reason for our visit to Great Britain was to try something new! And so we spent some time in the far southwest, on a peninsula known as Cornwall. We enjoyed seeing the coastlines, fishing harbors and beaches while sampling the local fare, such as Cornish pasties, cream teas (I heart scones), yummy restaurants and award winning sparkling wine (I heart bubbles). Can't say the weather was all that cooperative during our visit! A few of our days were washouts, but we made the best of it and were on the beach when we could be. Even on sunny days, it was a bit cool, but in a refreshing way. We didn't do much swimming in the ocean - those that did donned wet suits and surfed their hearts out. There were quite a few bays to choose from in the area where we stayed, but we mostly parked ourselves on the sands of the Porthcothan Bay in the shade of the surrounding cliffs. It was close to our cottage and well, we just kinda liked it! Here is a collection of shots from our days on the beach and in/around our cottage.
